Iranian Dates

Iran is the world;s second–largest producer of dates after Egypt.

The highest amount of Iranian dates is produced in tropical regions of southern and southeast of the country which have warm and dry climate.

We can say that Iran has the best dates since they are tasty and of high quality.

Introducing different kinds of Iranian dates for export

21 types of dates are harvested from the In Iran;s palm trees, from which at least

of 4 or 5 kinds of them are exported to other countries and known for foreign customers.

Several kinds of dates are introduced below.

1. Mazafati Rotab( Mazafati Date)

 

Mazafati dates are one of the best-known, most famous and most important dates produced in Iran.
This kind of date is usually black or dark brown with a thin shiny skin, a kind of soft dates

with high amount of juice and moisture and a very delicious flavor that has high demand among the people of Iran and foreign countries.

This date is known as Bam Mazafati Date which is the main product of Bam city in Kerman province.

2. Kabkab Rotab(Hony date)

Is an elliptic fruit with a semi-arid texture, golden yellow color, thick skin that high amount of the seed is clinged to the fruit.

This kind of date is known also Honey date due to its golden yellow color.
Kababab dates are originally from city of Dashtestan (Borazjan) in Bushehr province.

It is a product of the palm trees of Bushehr, Khuzestan, as well as Fars provinces.

3. Pyaram Date

Pyaram date has dark brown thin skin and looks beautiful and unique.

The flesh and skin of the dates are completely sticking together making it tasty.

It is a semi-arid date originally from organic condition of Hajiabad city in Hormozgan province.

4. Zahedi date

Zahedi (Ghasb) date is a dry or semi-arid date in some regions. This date is oval and reddish brown to yellow.

Due to its dry nature, it has a high storage capacity and easy transportation.

It is one of the industrial products.Zahedi dates are used in the vinegar and

alcohol industries due to the high amount of sugar in it.

The cultivable geographic area of this date is Khuzestan, Fars, Bushehr and Kermanshah provinces and the most important area is Poshtkooh in Bushehr province.

5. Esta amaran Date

It is a semi-arid date which dark brown color, and red and black in some cases.

Due to its semi- dryness, it can be kept under disinfection for a long time at room temperature and maintains its quality for up to 2 years.it is one of the most important products for export and due to the popularity and demand of these dates in the markets of Russia, Canada, Australia, England, New Zealand and … the highest percentage of the product are exported. The most important use of this fruit in foreign countries is the in alcohol and alcoholic beverages industries. Esta;amaran date is originally produced in Khuzestan province.

6. Shahani Date

It is a stretched soft bright brown fruit which is popular due to its high sweetness and pretty color. This kind of date is highly demanded in Arab countries.

The geographic location to cultivate this dates is in Jahrom city in Fars province.
